Business Litigation

-Thomson Reuters

Tom combines his passion of industry and the courtroom to resolve the challenges that confront clients every day.

He represents manufacturers, suppliers, commercial vehicle companies, businesses, and insurance companies in both state and federal courts, from resolving business disputes to defending multidistrict and class action litigation. With a particular niche in defending product liability claims in the automobile and heavy equipment arenas, clients have come to rely on Tom's experience and judgment to guide them through product liability matters involving trackhoes, excavators, wood chippers, manufacturing equipment, and other heavy equipment.

Tom's extensive experience in the transportation industry includes defending automobile dealerships, trucking and commercial vehicle companies in disputes from breach of contract matters, including non-compete and non-disclosure agreements, to wrongful death and catastrophic injuries.

proven experience

With years of dispute resolution and courtroom know-how, Tom has helped clients in matters involving construction and construction defects, environmental claims, oil and gas issues, as well as in employment matters. He defends allegations involving ADA, ADEA, FMLA, gender, race, religious, and state law discrimination, OCRC/EEOC charges, public policy wrongful discharge, workers' compensation retaliation discharge claims, and breach of non-compete and non-disclosure agreements.

With success, Tom has tried and settled claims, suits and judgments involving several millions of dollars for insurers and their insureds. Utilizing his significant industry knowledge, insurers are confident in Tom's ability to handle coverage disputes and claims of bad faith.
